WEEK ONE ~ INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING
The purpose of this exercise is to introduce students to SEL and have them work together to solve a common goal. This week will be important to have students buy into future exercises, keep this activity light and upbeat!
Steps and Materials:
Print out the Facilitator Instructions below and read them prior to starting the activity.
Print out 1 Student Worksheet for each participating student prior to starting the activity.
Show these SEL videos to the classroom after they receive the Student Worksheet
Start with “Why SEL and Why it Matters” and then watch “CASEL Competencies”
WEEK TWO ~ SELF - IMAGE
The purpose of this exercise is to introduce a positive self-image. This is recognizing and acknowledging the things that you cannot control, but you can still show yourself respect and have confidence.
Steps and Materials:

Print out 1 Student Worksheet for each participating student prior to starting the activity.
Show this TEDTalk called “How Do YOU Define Yourself?” to the classroom after they receive the Student Worksheet.
